Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is a mood disorder that occurs at certain times in the menstrual cycle. Many women experience premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and this may be thought of as the normal premenstrual experience. PMS symptoms are similar to those of PMDD.
